Sony Computer Entertainment Sets New Price For “PS One® & LCD Monitor Combo”

To become Available at 18,000 Yen Beginning May 16th, 2002

Tokyo, May 14, 2002 – Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) announced today that it would set a new suggested retail price of JPY 18,000 for “PS one® & LCD Monitor COMBO” (Combo) beginning May 16th, 2002.

With the worldwide cumulative shipments achieving over 90 million units, PlayStation continues to be supported by customers as the world’s largest game platform. Combo has been introduced to the market in the fall of 2001 to enjoy the world of PlayStation not only in homes but also in cars, at friends’ homes and during travel, and is highly valued by its users.

With new and more affordable price, the world of PlayStation is brought even closer to hand. Together with the new setting of Combo, SCEI also offers PS one, currently set at the suggested retail price of JPY 9,980, and LCD Monitor for PS one, JPY 14,800, at an open price.

With PlayStation and PlayStation 2, Sony Computer Entertainment will create and develop a new world of computer entertainment for the broadband era through the fusion of game, music, movies, and broadcasting.
