What is Online Safety?
Online safety in gaming means creating digital spaces where players can play, communicate, and connect with greater confidence. It brings together tools, policies, education, and human oversight to help protect players’ privacy, manage online interactions, address inappropriate behavior, and give families more control over their children’s gaming experiences.
At Sony Interactive Entertainment, our approach to online safety is built around three pillars:
Control Your Experience:
Giving players and families tools to manage privacy, communication, playtime, spending, and age-appropriate content.
Protect Our Players:
Using technology, education, and human oversight to help identify and reduce harmful behavior.
Enforce Our Standards:
Setting clear expectations for player conduct and reviewing reports when those standards aren’t followed.
Together, these efforts help parents and caregivers make informed choices while supporting positive online experiences for players of all ages.
Our Shared Commitment to Safer Gaming

We believe gaming is for everyone and strive to provide experiences that are positive and enjoyable for all, especially for our youngest players.
