\n (SCEA) today announced at its annual press conference at the E3 Media & Business Summit
\n in Los Angeles, Calif., a stunning line-up of PlayStation\u00ae products, services and exclusive
\n content that will change the way consumers experience their favorite games and entertainment
\n at home and on-the-go.<\/p>\n

“We are dedicated to providing our consumers with the types of entertainment offerings that have made PlayStation a definitive leader in the gaming and portable
\n entertainment industries for more than 15 years,” said Jack Tretton, CEO and President of
\n SCEA. “With the official North American unveiling of PlayStation\u00aeVita as well as the
\n introduction of an extensive line-up of software, hardware and services, the PlayStation
\n platform has never been stronger or more exciting for our customers. We believe that 2011
\n will be a defining year as we usher in a new era of portable gaming and drive widespread
\n adoption of 3D through our content and hardware offerings.”<\/p>\n

Introducing PlayStation\u00aeVita<\/h3>\n

In March 2005, the PSP\u00ae (PlayStation\u00aePortable) system defined new standards in
\n portable entertainment and provided game enthusiasts worldwide with a new way to
\n experience games outside of their living room. The PSP system broke through traditional
\n boundaries then and has gone on to sell more than 70 million units since its launch. In
\n January, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) announced a new portable device for a
\n new generation of gamers — the next generation portable entertainment system (codename:
\n NGP).<\/p>\n

Today, SCE announced PlayStation\u00aeVita (PS Vita) as the official platform name for
\n NGP. A Wi-Fi model will be available for 24,980 yen (including tax) in Japan, $249 MSRP in
\n US and \u20ac249 in Europe, while a 3G\/Wi-Fi model will be available for 29,980 yen (including
\n tax) in Japan, $299 MSRP in US and \u20ac299 in Europe. PS Vita will launch in the global market
\n starting at the end of 2011.<\/p>\n

Derived from the Latin word “Vita”, which means “Life” this next generation
\nportable entertainment system enables a revolutionary combination of rich gaming and social
\nconnectivity within a real world context.<\/p>\n

The PS Vita system incorporates a beautiful 5-inch multi-touch organic light emitting
\ndiode (OLED) as the front display and a unique multi-touch pad on the rear. Together with
\nthe front touch screen and the rear touch pad, the PS Vita system offers new game play
\nallowing users to interact directly with games in three dimension-like motion, through “touch,
\ngrab, trace, push and pull” finger motions. Also the PS Vita system features two analog sticks
\nwhich enable a wider range of game genres to be brought into the portable experience.<\/p>\n

In addition to the PS Vita system pricing, SCEA also revealed today that AT&T,
\nwhich powers the nation\u2019s fastest mobile broadband network, will be the exclusive service
\nprovider in the United States for the PS Vita system. The speed and coverage of AT&T\u2019s
\nmobile broadband network will ensure that PS Vita system users will remain connected to
\ncontent and each other on the go.<\/p>\n

On the content front, SCEA showcased a robust collection of software titles developed
\nexclusively for the PS Vita system. Featured titles including UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss\u2122<\/em>,
\nLittleBigPlanet\u2122<\/em> and Ruin<\/em> (working title), utilize the platform\u2019s groundbreaking technology
\nto make unprecedented immersive, interactive and social game play available on-the-go.
\nUNCHARTED: Golden Abyss<\/em> takes full advantage of PS Vita\u2019s stunning OLED screen to
\ndeliver vibrant cinematic visuals and combines input from the front-touch screen and dual-analog
\nsticks to create the most intuitive 3rd person shooter experience available on a portable
\nsystem. Also making use of PS Vita\u2019s unique feature set, LittleBigPlanet<\/em> allows users to Play,
\nCreate and Share like never before with the system\u2019s front touch screen and rear touch pad as
\nwell as its front and rear cameras. Finally, Ruin<\/em> brings the ultimate social action RPG
\nexperience and also delivers interoperable compatibility for players to save their game on the
\nPS Vita system and continue on at home using the PlayStation\u00ae3 (PS3\u2122) system. Adding to
\nthis selection of innovative games, SCEA unveiled a collection of PS Vita titles that will be
\navailable including wipEout<\/em>\u00ae, ModNation\u2122 Racers<\/em>, Reality Fighter<\/em> (working title), Super
\nStardust\u2122 Delta<\/em>, Sound Shapes<\/em>, Hot Shots Golf\u00ae, Hustle Kings\u2122<\/em> and more.<\/p>\n

Additionally, conference attendees received a look at Capcom\u2019s STREET FIGHTER\u00ae
\nx TEKKEN\u00ae<\/em> for the PS Vita system which will feature Cole MacGrath as a playable character
\nfrom the popular PS3 franchise, inFAMOUS\u2122<\/em>.<\/p>\n

PlayStation\u00ae3 system<\/h3>\n

Currently in its fifth year, the PlayStation\u00ae3 (PS3\u2122) system continues to experience
\ntremendous momentum, recently surpassing 50 million units sold worldwide. To-date, more
\nthan 2,300 games have been made available for PS3 including 108 stereoscopic 3D titles and
\n184 PlayStation\u00aeMove titles, and that momentum continues into 2012. Expanding PS3
\nsystem\u2019s industry-leading catalog of stereoscopic 3D games, SCEA presented a selection of
\nnew entries from fan-favorite series featuring full stereoscopic 3D support including
\nUNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception\u2122, Resistance\u00ae3 and God of War\u00ae: Origins Collection<\/em>.
\nSCEA also announced the return of one of PlayStation\u2019s most beloved franchises, Sly
\nCooper\u00ae: Thieves in Time\u2122<\/em>, which will treat players to an all-new adventure in stereoscopic
\n3D featuring classic characters, Sly, Murray and Bentley. In addition, SCEA introduced new
\ntitles utilizing the innovative PlayStation Move controller to deliver unique motion gaming
\nexperiences such as Everybody Dance\u2122, Carnival Island (working title), and Medievil
\nMoves: Deadmund’s Quest\u2122<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In addition to an unprecedented line-up of first-party titles, third-party support for the
\nPS3 system has never been stronger. Content shown at the conference includes the highly anticipated
\nfirst-person shooter BioShock Infinite<\/em> from 2K and Irrational Games which will
\nsupport the PlayStation Move motion controller, and will also include the original BioShock<\/em> on the PS3 Blu-ray disc.<\/p>\n

Additional exclusive content that will only be found on the PS3 system was
\nannounced for titles including Saint\u2019s Row: The Third<\/em> from THQ, Electronic Arts\u2019 SSX\u2122,
\nNeed for Speed\u2122 The Run, and Battlefield 3\u2122. For Battlefield 3<\/em>, the PS3 version promises to
\nbe bigger than any other as Electronic Arts will be using the extra storage capacity of the Blu-ray
\nto add a second game to the disc, Battlefield 1943<\/em>, one of the most popular games
\navailable on PlayStation\u00aeNetwork.<\/p>\n

Innovations in stereoscopic 3D<\/h3>\n

As a leader in 3D entertainment and gaming, SCEA kicked off the 2011 press
\nconference at E3 on the world\u2019s largest 3D screen \u2013 showcasing a breadth of first- and third-party
\ntitles coming this year in 3D that is unmatched.<\/p>\n

SCE today also announced the upcoming availability of the new PlayStation branded
\n3D Display. The 24-inch full HD LCD display will give PS3 users easy, affordable access to
\nstereoscopic 3D entertainment. Available this fall, the 3D Display comes bundled with 3D
\nGlasses, an HDMI cable and the highly anticipated Resistance 3<\/em> title from Insomniac Games
\nfor PlayStation\u00ae3 (PS3\u00ae) at an attractive recommended retail price (MSRP) of US$499.99.
\nThe 3D Glasses will also be sold separately, concurrently with the 3D Display launch for
\nMSRP of US$69.99.<\/p>\n

Designed to deliver the ultimate gaming experience, the 3D Display comes equipped
\nwith a special two-player feature, which allows two players playing a multi-player game to
\nsee individual, unique, full-screen images of gameplay using the bundled 3D Glasses and
\nsupported software title.<\/p>\n

PlayStation\u00aeNetwork<\/h3>\n

With more than 77 million accounts worldwide, PlayStation\u00aeNetwork continues to be
\none of the largest networked entertainment platforms in the world and is the premier
\ndestination for games, TV and movies, sports and music entertainment. Today, SCEA
\nannounced that coming this fall , BestBuy\u2019s CinemaNow video service will be accessible to
\nPS3 owners, providing consumers with access to more than 12,000 of their favorite TV
\nepisodes and movies for rental or purchase.<\/p>\n

Publisher support for PlayStation Network continues to remain strong as CCP
\nintroduced a new PlayStation Network exclusive title, Dust 514\u00ae<\/em>, which will feature
\nPlayStation Move support and also be made available for the PS Vita system. Another
\nexciting game coming exclusively to the PS3 system and PlayStation Network in 2012 is Star
\nTrek\u2122 <\/em>from Paramount Digital Entertainment. The game, which continues the adventure that
\ndirector and producer J.J. Abrams envisioned with Star Trek\u2122 (2009), boasts a story filled
\nwith action- packed combat and will be fully PlayStation Move enabled. Paramount Digital
\nEntertainment will also offer an exclusive prequel to the game only on PlayStation Network.<\/p>\n
