\nLOS ANGELES, Calif., June 2, 2009<\/span>\u2013 Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA)
\nheld its annual press conference today at the E3 Media & Business Summit in Los Angeles,
\nCalif., announcing several new products and services that reiterate PlayStation\u2019s industry
\nleadership position, by delivering consumers comprehensive entertainment options and fun
\nexperiences for all members of the family. Closing out a record year of sales for PlayStation
\nin 2008, the company unveiled a new hardware offering the PSP\u00ae go system and laid out its
\nmost aggressive software line up to date with unprecedented support from its publishing
\npartners, including Activision\u00ae, Capcom\u00ae, Electronic Arts (EA), and Ubisoft\u00ae. The
\ncompany also showcased an unparalleled exclusive line up of more than 25 first-party games
\nthat are both defying and defining gaming genres with titles ranging from Uncharted 2:
\nAmong Thieves\u2122 and MAG, the industry\u2019s first 256-player online gaming experience, to
\nModNation\u2122 Racers, which reinforces PlayStation\u2019s leadership and innovation towards usergenerated
\ngameplay. Proven franchises will also hit PlayStation platforms including Gran
\nTurismo\u00ae 5, Ratchet & Clank\u00ae Future: A Crack in Time, and God of War\u00ae III. In addition,
\nSCEA announced several exclusive titles for the PS3 including RockStar North\u2019s Agent and
\nFinal Fantasy XIV, as well as exclusive titles for the PSP such as Resident Evil and Metal
\nGear Solid: Peace Walker.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll have another great year in 2009 because we have an amazing line-up of
\nexclusive games on tap, including Gran Turismo 5, UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves,
\nModNation Racers, MAG, and God of War III, not to mention an onslaught of content hitting
\nPSP with fan favorites such as LittleBigPlanet, RockBand, and Metal Gear Solid,\u201d said Jack
\nTretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. \u201cPlayStation has
\nbeen redefining consumer entertainment since its inception and we have no plans to stop.
\nWe\u2019re continuing to raise the ante when it comes to delivering compelling and fun
\nentertainment experiences to consumers and will do so for many, many years.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Also announced on stage, the PlayStation Portable family introduced its newest
\nevolution, the PSP go system and a remarkable content line up including exclusives Gran
\nTurismo, LittleBigPlanet\u2122, and Resident Evil. Coming to North America in October 2009,
\nthe PSP go system is specifically designed for the digital lifestyle with an even more
\nportable, pocket-sized and sleek design. Exclusively for downloading digital content, the PSP
\ngo system comes built in with 16GB of internal flash memory for games, videos, music, and
\nphotos, and will be priced at $249.99 (MSRP). SCEA also announced a suite of new digital
\ncontent services that will be available for both PSP go and PSP-3000 systems, including a
\nnew music application called \u201cSensMe\u2122 channels,\u201d a mood based music recommendation
\nsystem and Media Go!, a free application that makes it easier for consumers to manage their
\nPSP games, photos, videos and music on their PC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Also, demoed on stage, SCEA previewed current developments for an engineering
\nprototype of a new controller which can be combined with PlayStation\u00aeEye to offer
\nunmatched precision for added depth and enhanced gaming experiences for casual to the
\nhard-core gamers. The controller detects the natural movements of the hands and uses the
\nPlayStation\u00aeEye to detect the position of the controller in 3D, allowing the camera to project
\nusers onto the TV screen to play and interact with onscreen objects. In addition,
\nDUALSHOCK\u00ae 3, one of SCEA\u2019s most popular peripherals, will be offered in three new
\ncolors this year. \u201cSatin Silver\u201d will be available exclusively at GameStop from July through
\nSeptember, while \u201cDeep Red\u201d and \u201cMetallic Blue\u201d will be available at all retail partners
\nstarting in October.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

PlayStation Network continues to evolve with new content and services being added
\nfrom all major network studio partners, in addition to 16 new premiere partners from
\nHollywood, anime and sports. With the addition of the new content providers, PlayStation
\nNetwork\u2019s video delivery service offers nearly 1900 movies and 9400 TV episodes to
\nconsumers. The new Hollywood partners include Showtime Networks Inc., Starz Media, \u2013
\nfor Film, TV and Manga Anime, G4 & E!, Summit Entertainment, The Weinstein Company,
\nHDnet & Magnolia Pictures. Anime partners include, Anime Network, Media Blasters, Right
\nStuf’s Nozomi Entertainment, Starz Media\u2019s Manga Entertainment, Toei Animation, Viz
\nMedia, WEP and FUNimation Entertainment. Sports partners include HDNet Fights, UFC,
\nWrestling from TNA and Video Action Sports. Additionally, the PSP system users now have
\nincreased freedom to directly access the PlayStation Network\u2019s video delivery service,
\nenabling them to download movies and TV shows without connecting to a PC or the PS3
\nsystem first.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
